Quite a few people have asked where the name 'Mar-Ja-Si' comes from and often expect some sort of technical / web-based answer. This is not the case.

Me (Jason) and my two brothers (Martin & Simon) were very close to our grand parents especially on our mothers side. We used to go on holidays together to my Grandma's caravan in Ingoldmells near Skegness in Lincolnshire. If we were getting 'out-of-hand' our Grandma would shout at us and, being flustered, would always go through all of our names until she got the right one...'Mar-Ja-Si' she'd shout! This sort of stuck and so the name Mar-Ja-Si was painted on the side of her van as a name plate.

Mar-Ja-Si has no meaning to anyone other than members of my family. The name is now a name plate on my Mum and Dads house in Spain where they live as a sentimental reminder of happy times on holiday.

Unfortunately our Grandma - May Hartshorn - died on Tuesday 10th January 2006 aged 91. She was a kind, generous, caring lady who will be sadly missed by everybody who knew her.
